This is the official info page on all things related to Koffin Vauhtikisat 2024 aka KOFF RACE.
WHEN & WHERE? The event will be held this year at the iconic Sinebrychoff Park (Sinebrychoffinkatu 1) in Helsinki on Sunday July 14th.
WHAT TIME? The event officially starts at 14:00 and lasts approximately to 20:00. We have a permit from the Helsinki city to organize the event at this time in this location.
The event is completely free of charge and we’re warmly welcoming everyone to the event.
Please arrive early to secure your spot up on the hill for the best views of the race!
Here’s a list of some important things worth going through before coming to the event:
KEEP YOUR DISTANCE TO THE RACE
”VÄISTÄKÄÄ” is a shout you will hear very often at our event. That means ”WATCH OUT” and we fully mean it. Please keep your distance off the race course (the thin asphalt route through the Koff park hill). Please expect some racers (& their boards) to slide and fly off the course with very high speed. We recommend keeping at least a 5 meter distance to the race course to be fully safe from collisions. BE WARNED, if you try to stand closer to the race, you’re doing it at your own risk.
DON’T TRY TO RIDE DOWN / ENTER THE BEST TRICK CONTEST IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE SKILLS TO DO IT
The race and the best trick obstacles we build are meant for skateboarders who have what it takes to SAFELY skate this course & these obstacles. All racers have to sign up for the race. We will inform about how to enter the contest in the park before the event starts, you have to sign up and also sign a disclosure first before entering the contest.
RESPECT OTHERS, THIS IS A PEACEFUL EVENT
We won’t tolerate any kind of bullying at the event. The event is open and welcome for all people. This is a peaceful event to promote skateboard culture in Helsinki and Finland in general. We kindly ask you to bring a positive attitude to the park, let’s all have good time and enjoy the event together.
THE EVENT IS LOUD (within dB limits of course) - please consider bringing earplugs for noise cancellation.
PICK UP YOUR TRASH - we love the beautiful Sinebrychoff park and we want to organize this event in the future too. For that to happen we need your help too. We kindly ask you to treat the park with respect. Whatever you bring there, take it with you when you leave, simple as that! Want to help us? Please pick some trash for us when leaving the park ❤️
WE HAVE BAJAMAJAS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL - they’re there for a reason. Please use them instead of bushes on the side.
